Matthew Ch. 13  Sow the seed (the word) and the influence of the kingdom of heaven into the hearts of those around you.

While you sow, it will help you to know these things:

v.1-9 When the word of God is sown into different hearts, it will reap different responses, depending on the state of the heart.

v.10-17 Some will shut their eyes to the light of the truth, and harden their hearts against its reception.

v.18-23 The word of God that is sown into a well-prepared heart will bear fruit, but the word that is sown into an ill-prepared heart, is at risk:
of being snatched away by Satan,
of reaping a superficial response that has no roots, and
of being choked by worldly cares and a desire for riches.

v.24-30, 36-43 The kingdom of heaven on earth, will be subject to the influence of the enemy, until the “harvest.”
OR  There are two powerful sowers at work in the world, whose effects are in opposition to each other.
Personal Application:  Do you aspire to have an effect on those around you, that is greater than the enemy’s?

v.31-35  When the word of God is sown in a heart, its effect may start out very small, but it can grow to be very beneficial.

v.44-46  The kingdom of heaven is a treasure “of great price,” and is worth investing all that you have, to possess it.

v.47-50  The kingdom of heaven on earth, will include good and bad until the end of the ages, when the wicked will be separated from the just.

v.51-52  Instruction and understanding of the kingdom of heaven, are treasures that are given to be used, not hoarded.

v.53-58  Those who know you, may reject the evidence of God working through you—familiarity may breed unbelief.
