The End Times

The news of world events can be scary. It’s full of “wars and rumors of wars” (Matt 24:6 NKJV) and other occurrences that will one day signal “the end of the age” (Matt 24:3 NKJV)—a time of great tribulation for many people. What are the signs of the “end,” what will happen when it comes, and what are we supposed to be doing in the meantime? Matthew Chapter 24 tells us.

Matthew Ch. 24  Endure the tribulations that precede the end times as a faithful and wise servant— endure to the end.

v.1-3 “What will be the sign of Your [Jesus’] coming, and of the end of the age?” (v.3).

v.4-13 These things will happen, but the end is not yet.
v.5   Many will say, “I am the Christ.”
v.6   “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars.”
v.7   “Nation will rise against nation.”
v.7   “There will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes.”
v.9   “You will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake.”
v.10  Many will be offended, and betray and hate one another.
v.11  “Many false prophets will . . . deceive many.”
v.12  “Because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.”

v.14-25 These things will happen when the end comes.
v.15  The abomination of desolation will stand in the holy place.
v.21  There will be greater tribulation than ever before, since the beginning of the world.
v.24 “False christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders,” and they will be convincing.

v.26-41 These things will happen at the coming of the Son of Man.
v.27  His coming will be a sudden as a flash of lightning.
v.28  It will be at a time of great death.
v.29  The sun will be darkened and the moon will be dark.
v.30  The Son of Man will be seen coming on the clouds with power and great glory.
v.31  His angels will gather together His elect (all believers).
v.37  His coming will be as the days of Noah were.

v.42-47 Watch and be ready, as a faithful and wise servant, giving food to those in the Master’s household.

v.48-51 Don’t abuse people or waste time because it looks like the Master’s return has been delayed.
