Awake, Awake!

by Katy Kauffman @KatyKauffman28

Awake, awake!

Put on your strength, O Zion;

put on your beautiful garments,

 O Jerusalem, the holy city!

Isaiah 52:1a NKJV

Awake to light, awake to hope!

Awake to strength replacing weakness.

Awake to beauty displacing misery.

Are you ready for the onslaught of good that will come?

Of God rising, His wings drowning out the cries of hopelessness.

Of God fighting, His sword clashing with the lies and schemes of the enemy.

Awake to courage, awake to victory!

Awake to wisdom dispelling confusion.

Awake to power obliterating paralysis.

Are you looking for His descent into your turmoil?

Are you trusting that He will use His majestic splendor to rescue and heal?

Be prepared for your heart’s deliverance out of darkness and misery.

Awake to sing, awake to tell!

Awake to usefulness crushing aimlessness.

Awake to urgency eclipsing apathy.

Are you sharing how God has rescued you?

It’s your story, your privilege, your treasure.

It’s your memorial when darkness comes marching again.

This is a great poem to awaken to truth. God fights for us and brings us truth and a reason to rejoice. I love this line "Awake to wisdom dispelling confusion." That is what wisdom does - it eliminates confusion. Truth clarifies. Thanks for the encouragement.

Thank you so much for your comment, Joanna! I am grateful for how God's counsel and wisdom have dispelled confusion in my life. Doubt, fear, anxiety, too. His presence and His truth give us sure footing in life, don't they? Thanks for reading the poem.

I loved this line in your poem, Katy, "Awake to power obliterating paralysis." I often feel paralyzed, or at least fearful to take that first step, when it comes my writing or when I was homeschooling or other activities and opportunities where I didn't feel very brave! But God's power is unstoppable! He is the Almighty, and your poem is a wonderful reminder of that!

Amen! His power is unstoppable. Thank you for sharing that, Julie, and for reading the poem. God is amazing in His power and love. He uses His power for good. Every single day. Every single moment. I am grateful He fights for us!
