I love Bible study. As a preteen, I loved the Bible so much I wanted to grow up and teach it with my family. I loved Psalms because it showed me God’s caring, rescuing, formidable side. I loved the Gospels because I could picture Jesus walking among the crowds and healing, teaching, and loving them. I was in awe of God’s power as I read the glorious, cosmic, and strange events of Revelation and Daniel. Romans gave me an assurance of having life with God and no condemnation from Him. Proverbs deliciously included so much wisdom in one book, it was an adventure to read it all and try to keep up. The Bible came alive as I started studying it for myself.

When Satan launches fiery missiles our way, we need a fortress of defense for protection. When trials and uncontrollable circumstances threaten to shake our foundation, we need a solid rock to stand on. When doubts and fears cloud our joy and vision, we need the light of God Himself to pierce through the fog and bring hope.

The Word of God is our sure defense against the enemy, our solid foundation through the storms of life, and our victory over fears and anxieties. The Bible is a handbook for living. Guiding us from the earliest age of understanding to our final days, it traces God’s path for our lives ...

What is Scripture telling us to do or know about the Christian life? Why is this important to live out and remember? And how do we practically apply this to our everyday lives?
