Sweet Release—A Prayer

This is a Five Minute Friday post. Today’s word: release.

Sweet release. It wouldn’t have happened without You. Years of struggles, and still You patiently loved me. Thank You for helping me to see where the path would lead, affecting not just me but those around me.

So I let go. Of wanting my way. Of seeking my timing. And I seek You, in all Your beauty and glory, in all Your love and strength.

Life with You is so much better than anything I could dream up on my own. You’re the Author and Finisher of our faith, the writer of each believer’s story. For my part, I choose Your path and rest in Your plan.

I know all the struggles won’t go away overnight. But I confess my wandering, embrace Your forgiveness, and start again on Your path. One step at a time, holding Your hand, delighting in Your heart. You’re Home to me, where I belonged all along. And You mean the world to me.

Sweet release. I trust You.

Beautiful post, Katy. Yes, one step at a time. That's the thing I often struggle with as I want to take twenty, but he is so faithful when I stumble and guides me back to Him. Thanks for sharing your thoughts today. I enjoyed reading. :-)

This is beautiful Katy. It's a lesson I've had to learn (over and over again), but in the trusting comes peace. Your words are so encouraging.

I love that. "In the trusting comes peace." I sure hope so! And I know it does. Laying down my way is always better than insisting on it. When trust takes over, peace comes. And then you wonder why you doubted to begin with? Thank you for your comments, Linda!
