Psalm 107: Cry Out to God—Using 7 Bible Study Tools

Psalm 107 is my favorite chapter in the Bible. In this post I want to use the Bible study tools to show you why.

I had done the first six steps years ago— prayed, printed, marked key people and repeated words, paid attention to contrasts and comparisons, looked up a few definitions and read some commentaries. But when I did the seventh step for this blog post, I discovered something new about Psalm 107—some sparkling application. Why We Love It: 10 Testimonials About the Benefits of Personal Bible Study

“I rejoice at Your word as one who finds great treasure.” Psalm 119:162, NKJV

I love Bible study. As a preteen, I loved the Bible so much I wanted to grow up and teach it with my family. I loved Psalms because it showed me God’s caring, rescuing, formidable side. I loved the Gospels because I could picture Jesus walking among the crowds and healing, teaching, and loving them. I was in awe of God’s power as I read the glorious, cosmic, and strange events of Revelation and Daniel. Romans gave me an assurance of having life with God and no condemnation from Him. Proverbs deliciously included so much wisdom in one book, it was an adventure to read it all and try to keep up. The Bible came alive as I started studying it for myself.
