10 Bible Verses for a New Year
by Katy Kauffman
As you enter this new year, remember:
- Being loved is our constant reality – “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you: continue you in my love” (John 15:9 AKJV).
- God is the best planner – “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way” (Psalm 37:23 NKJV).
- This is the pursuit of a lifetime – “And this is life eternal, that they might know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent” (John 17:3 AKJV).
- This is the goal every day – “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength: this is the first commandment” (Mark 12:30 AKJV).
- This is Jesus’ mission for us – “This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you” (John 15:12 AKJV).
- This is the reality God builds for those who turn to Him – “For he satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness” (Psalm 107:9 AKJV).
- This is why we persevere – “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9 NIV).
- We have a promise and a commissioning – “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear” (Hebrews 12:28 NKJV).
- We have instant access to the One who can do anything – “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16 AKJV).
- Peace comes when we lean on God and focus on what He is capable of – “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you: because he trusts in you” (Isaiah 26:3 AKJV).
May God bless you and keep you in the new year!
