Lists – 4 Reasons Why the Resurrection Was Necessary

Why was the resurrection of Jesus necessary?

1. To confirm that God the Father accepted Jesus’ sacrifice—His atoning death on the cross—as full payment for the sins of mankind (Romans 5:1, 1 Peter 1:3-5)
   
2. So that Jesus could continue His ministry to believers (Hebrews 7:25, 8:6; 1 John 2:1-2; Mark 16:20)
   
3. To give assurance that believers who die, will be raised to life, as Jesus was (Rom 6:5)
   
4. To powerfully picture the new life believers are enabled to live, free from the rule of sin (Rom 6:4, 11, 19)

This is the message that we bear to the world, we sing in praise, and we shout from the housetops—Jesus is risen!
