I Know What Happens in Prayer
by Beebe Kauffman
I know what will happen when I take the time to pray.
I will lay my “tired” down as my heart draws close to You.
I will seek You out to love and be loved, and step forward into my day brightened.
I will receive Your strength to help bear my burdens, or I will feel them being rolled away.
I will see past the fog of confusion and know how to face life with confidence and new direction.
I will have my sorrows eased or healed and feel refreshed to dispense joy and goodness.
I will see my circumstances from a new perspective that restores my peace, joy, and hope.
I will ask for good gifts for my family and loved ones and delight in You when they receive them.
I will entrust others’ cares and concerns to the One who is all-powerful and forever faithful.
I will receive new understanding of the realities of life from the Author and Founder of wisdom, oneness, and love.
I will see Your face in a way that I have not seen it before, and be overwhelmed, again, with awe and thanksgiving.
I know what happens in prayer.
“Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving.” (Colossians 4:2 NKJV)
