Use Your Resources to Proclaim the Truth of God’s Word

Do you ever feel weary trying to do what God has called you to? Tap into your God-given resources to do your God-given assignments. And let a chapter in 2 Timothy encourage you today.

The message of the whole book of 2 Timothy is this:

Fight the good fight to proclaim the truth of God’s word.

Chapter 1 shows us what resources we have because of our relationship with God. Read this chapter in your Bible and then the application below.

Ch. 1  Use your resources.

v.1-2  Draw upon the grace, mercy, and peace that God and Christ give you.

v.3  Serve God with a pure conscience, and be faithful in prayer.

v.4-6  Stir up the gift of God that you have because of your genuine faith.

v.7  Use the spirit of power, love, and a sound mind that God has given us, to overcome fear.

v.8-11  Draw on God’s power to endure any suffering that comes with making known the good news of Christ’s gospel. …

v.12  Don’t let persecution make you think that you are wasting your work of ministry, but trust God to make it count.

v.13  Live according to the pattern set by the sound words of Scripture, in faith and love.

v.14  Depend on the Holy Spirit to help you share and teach what you know of God’s word.

v.15-18  Be encouraged by friends who refresh you, even if some turn away from you.
