Hold Your Confidence in Jesus, Steadfast to the End

The book of Hebrews showcases who Jesus is and His role in our Christian lives. Read Chapter 3 and then the application below.

Ch. 3  Hold your confidence in Jesus, steadfast to the end, because that’s what true believers do.

v.1-6a  Understand that Jesus is greater than Moses—Moses was faithful in God’s house as a servant, but Jesus is faithful over His own house of believers, as a Son.

v.6b  Hold fast your confidence in Jesus Christ—that He is who He says He is, and He will do what He says He will do—until the end, and express it boldly to others with joy.

v.7-9  Accept the truth “today,” that is, when you hear it, and don’t harden your heart against the witness of God’s good and mighty works.

Commentary Notes:
v.8 Do not harden your hearts. Don’t get to the place “that God’s voice makes no impression”¹ on your heart.

v.10-12  Don’t go astray in your heart by hardening it with unbelief.

v.13-14  Exhort one another daily to be steadfast in faith.

v.15-17  Believe God for great things, and don’t pull back in unbelief.

v.18-19  Don’t let unbelief and disobedience, cost you God’s rest (in any area of life).

Other Application for Ch. 3:  Hear God’s voice daily, and follow Him fully.
