Bits of Wisdom – Speak Up
Do not be afraid, but speak, and do not keep silent. (Acts 18:9 NKJV)
Speak up.
The offer to people in evangelism is to know the one true God, and to receive to themselves all the good that comes with knowing Him.
The offer is for their hearts to be satisfied, full, and for them to have Someone great to share life with, to be there for them no matter what.
Someone who knows how to help, comfort, and guide them, and has the power to do it.
Someone who heals hearts and satisfies them, who answers questions and has solutions.
Dealing with sin isn’t the ultimate issue—knowing God is (John 17:3).
Sin is an issue because it hinders knowing God and possessing the life and inner reality that He wants to build within us.
Sin must be dealt with, but that isn’t the ultimate goal—God is.
Life with Him, a personal relationship with Him, that’s what satisfies the heart, that’s what heals it and builds it up in soundness and strength.
God is good for the heart.
Life with God is the key to being good and contributing it to others.
There is Someone who is loving, good, and powerful who wants to come alongside us in life.
Dealing with sin is a secondary issue to that, but a necessary one.
Knowing God is the primary issue.
“Repent of sin.” Why? – So you can know God now and possess all the good that comes with it.

What a great reminder! Sometimes we focus so much on repentance, we forget the WHY of repentance. It’s all about knowing God and having a relationship with Him that glorifies His name.

Amen! Life is about knowing God. That’s why I love John 17:3 so much. It says what the point of eternal life is. Thank you for your comment, Julie! ~ Katy
