holy – a separation from evil and defilement1
holy – “spiritually perfect or pure; untainted by evil or sin”2
holy – enriched with moral excellence
holy – excellent, outstandingly good
holy – set right according to God’s order and design
holiness – participation in all kinds of good
holiness – nonparticipation in all kinds of evil (harm)
holy, as pertaining to God – perfect excellence of soul
holy, as pertaining to Christians – growing in excellence of soul (subject to our choices)
holy – excellent in good, adhering to it, building it, orchestrating it, and sustaining it in thoughts, attitudes, and actions
