Join Us for the Enrich Conference 2021

Brainstorming, discussions, speeches, laughter, and joy—that’s what we had at last year’s Enrich Conference. Even on Zoom! I loved “gathering” online with other Christian writers to talk about Bible studies. The Pandemic didn’t stop us from enriching each other with encouragement, feedback, and fellowship.

The Enrich Conference 2021 offers classes, workshops, and fellowship time for those who write, speak, or teach about Scripture. This year’s conference will be on Thursday, September 30, through Saturday, October 2. It will be on Zoom, and it’s free. A list of the classes, the daily schedule, and a link to register for the conference are below.

On the first day, we’ll have a mini-conference on “How to Write Bible Studies,” from which we will launch a new Zoom group for Bible study writers. Thursday evening begins the regular conference with a brainstorming session. The rest of the time, we’ll give speeches and receive feedback, talk about main ideas and reader takeaway, and discuss how to repurpose our Bible studies or Christian Living articles into (CBN) devotions. We will practice putting some sizzle into our book proposals, and be encouraged to use such resources for writers as MailChimp, WordPress, and YouTube. And more. We would love for you to join us.

An Upcoming Release: Heart Renovation

Whoo-hoo!! God gave us a double blessing this week.

Just as we were finishing our group’s new compilation, Heart Renovation: A Construction Guide to Godly Character, we learned that our 2017 compilation is a finalist in the Selah Awards at the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference. Breaking the Chains: Strategies for Overcoming Spiritual Bondage is a finalist in the Bible Studies category. What a blessing!

Our new compilation will be released next month. Heart Renovation is written by thirty authors and has sixty article-length Bible studies. This encouraging and insightful book is a warm-hearted powerhouse of a study on growing in Christlikeness. It is full of strategies that help us to implement the principles of heart renovation and to overcome its hindrances. The book has already affected my heart, and I can’t wait to share it with the world!

Bible Study Blitz

For some people, fall is all about football. September and a little of October have been all about Bible studies on my blog. I had a blitz of my own! Ten posts have mapped out how to study the Bible, the personal benefits, tips for teaching and writing Bible studies, and more. In case you missed any of the posts, here they are with a short description. ...

An Arsenal for Victory - Introducing 2 Timothy: Winning the Victory

What songs do you like to listen to again and again? Is there a song you play when you’re feeling down? I have a couple of playlists on my computer that I play when I need a good pick-me-up song. The playlists include: By Your Side (Tenth Avenue North), Shout to the Lord (Darlene Zschech), The Prayer (Josh Groban and Angie Stone), and My Help Comes from the Lord (The Museum). These songs are a part of my musical “arsenal,” that I use to fight back thoughts of worry and feelings of depression. They remind me that God is great, I can trust Him, and He has a plan.

What about Scripture? Do you have a Scriptural arsenal that you use to defeat negative thoughts that Satan shoots through your mind? When fear threatens to stop you in your tracks, when doubts cause you to worry, when Satan tempts you to give up, what Scriptures do you run to?

I run to 2 Timothy. ...
