Special Series, Day 18: What is Jesus doing today?

Wednesday – Prayer

18. Jesus sends laborers into His harvest.

When [Jesus] saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then said he to his disciples, “The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; pray you therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:36-38 AKJV*)

Lord, we pray that You might send laborers to share the Gospel with people, and that we might participate in that work. Prepare us to tell people the good news of Your love and mercy, and that Your sacrifice on our behalf applies to anyone who will place their faith in You. Help us to tell people about the life that You make possible now—a life overflowing with goodness and purpose—and about the certainty of everlasting life in heaven with You. In Your name, Amen.
