Special Series, Day 6: What is Jesus doing today?
Monday – Quotations
6. Jesus encourages us and helps us in the ways and work of God.
Matthew 21:9-11 (AKJV*)
The multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this? And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.

Matthew Henry, Commentator:
“It is the business of God’s prophets to stir up God’s people to that which is good, to help them in it, to strengthen their hands, and by … the word of God to quicken [energize] them to their duty and encourage them in it. … God … raises up prophets [for His people] to be their helpers in the way and work of God.”1
“prophets” – encouragers and helpers in a particular area of life
Jesus is the Prophet of God.
This important work is a part of what He is doing today in our Christian lives. Now, in our generation.
