Special Series, Day 8: What is Jesus doing today?
Wednesday – Prayers
8. Jesus prays for us.
Hebrews 7:25 (NKJV):
He [Jesus] is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
“Intercession, i.e., prayer on behalf of others, … involves … concentration upon specific petitions, unselfish devotion to another, personal knowledge of the needs of another, and selfless involvement in the problems of another. Intercession is made to encourage repentance, secure restoration, ensure deliverance, … find healing, and bestow blessings.”1
“When one intercedes for another, great things happen … in the life of the one [interceded for]: power, wisdom, inner strength, discernment, knowledge of God’s will, fruitfulness, patience, peace, love, holiness, comfort, and equipping for a task.”2
Jesus always lives to make intercession for God’s people.
