The Grace of Christmas

Sheep without a shepherd, sin-sick without a Healer.

Slaves to darkness, imprisoned without a Liberator.

That’s what we would be without Jesus.

The cry of a newborn answered the cry of mankind needing hope, needing love.

For thirty-three years, He experienced our sorrows, knew our limitations, and empathized with our needs.

He had compassion on our greatest need—the need for a Savior from sin and from eternal separation from God—and came to earth out of love.

He was the Answer, bridging the gap between God and man.

He was the Shepherd, giving rest and nourishment for our souls.

He was the Healer, making whole both body and spirit.

And He is today. The Answer, the Shepherd, the Healer.

He is the Liberator from sin and death, shame and desperation.

By His stripes, we are healed.

By His death, we can live.

By His love, we have peace forevermore.

The grace of Christmas is the love of God demonstrated in the greatest gift of all time—the Son of God became one of us, to die for each of us. Raised from the dead, He is a living Savior to all who believe in Him as their Savior and Lord.

Grace, wrapped up in a newborn sent to save the world.

Grace, God Himself paying our sin debt.

Grace, eternal life given to all who believe, bringing us joy, peace, purpose, adventure, and strength.

May the story of grace be our treasure this Christmas and always. And may we share this story with everyone we can.

Love came to earth, and His name is Jesus.
