Writing Tip – Write from the Victory

I’ve heard it said that we need to “write from our pain”—the pain we experienced when we went through a particular struggle. This helps us to write with empathy and understanding.

Yes, it does help. But we also need to write from another perspective.

We need to write from the victory.

When we write about how God helped us through a struggle, we share hope with our readers. They can see it’s possible to walk through a struggle with God and depend on Him for what we need.

Writing from the victory also causes us to share proven strategies that are based on Scripture.

When we write, we can remember the depth of our pain but also the heights of joy and relief we have discovered when we have looked to God for help.

“Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:57 WEB)
